  2. Recycling Why is recycling important?

  3. Energy The amount of energy needed to make new materials is more than if we recycled. Just recycling aluminum cans we can save about 91% of energy.

  4. Reduce • Buy only what you need • Buy what can be used later in another project (containers, rechargeable batteries) • Buy all-purpose cleaners ( one to do the jobs, instead of many for one purpose) • Sell or give-away unused items • Only use paper when needed (email as much as possible, News Letters, Updates, etc.)

  5. Reuse • You can flip paper over and use it for notes, printing, and crafts • Cardboard, bubblewrap, newspapers, can be used for packing. • Jars can be used to hold utensils (pens, kitchen stuff, etc.) • Plastic or paper bags can be reused back at the store, garbage bins, even wrapping paper.
