  2. Treatment • For this project I am interested into making a short film about Murders and Villains. I am fascinated by how people can be so cruel and ultimately what drives these people to do such things and by societies obsession with learning and being entertained by content about some of the most shocking tragedies in history. I am interested into learning about why we as a population of consumers are so fascinated by violent content as in real life we are forbidden by laws not to commit bodily harm to others and are mostly taught by our parents before us that violence is wrong yet history teaches us that there are some people driven by violence from as young as boys in the case of the murder of James Bulgerand there are some destined to commit over and over again like H.H. Holmes.

  3. Visual references • Here I have Silence of the Lambs and AmericanHorror Story Hotel. These works are vast in serial killer inspiration as Silence of the Lambs has the Notorious Hannibal Lecture in as well as a serial killer said to have been inspired by 3 of Americas most tormented murders, along with Hotel that is a series full of a vast cast of serial killers featuring some of the most famous in history including: H.H. Holmes, Countess Elizabeth Bathory, Jeffery Dahmer and many more.

  4. Practitioners • Two Practitioners who have inspired my interest for the subject has been David Fincher (right) director of Seven, Gone Girl and Zodiac and Jonathan Demme (left) director of Silence of the Lambs. Both these men have had unique views and stories on serial killers that attracted audiences of masses and are both responsible for some of the greatest serial killer films in existence.

  5. Target audience • So my target audience for this project I intend to be people interested in factual but yet narrative works in the subject of serial killers and real life villains. I think my age range should be any age interested, however I feel people from 15-30 will be most interested in my subject as that age bracket in the modern day are the ones most likely to be watching lots of film content e.g. Netflix and so forth. This age bracket is also the most likely to be the least educated on serial killer history as some of the most horrific murders took place before 2000.
