Dr. Jane Spence DCPS has received a number of awards celebrating her excellence, including Teacher of the Year for her work at Gibbs High School in Pinellas County, Florida, and Principal of the Year for the State of Maryland, for her leadership of Bowie High School, in Prince George's County, Maryland.
Jane Spence has many achievements to her credit. She achievements include leading urban district high schools to an aggregate 10% increase in high school student achievement on PARCC (ELA) as Deputy Chief of School. She lives in Bowie, Maryland with her two high school and middle school aged children.
Dr. Jane Spence DCPS was recognized as the principal of the year for the state of Maryland. She also raised advanced placement participation from 25% to 38% as a principal of a 3000 student school. Previously Jane Spence was named as the teacher of the year for Gibbs High School (Florida).
Jane Spence’s dedication helped him to get the position of the chief of secondary high schools in 2017. She continued serving at the schools till 2018.
