Regio-Link Offers New Tools for INTERNATIONALISATION REGIO-LINK Regio-Link is a project which major goal is : “To facilitate SME´s access to European market, thus improving the services they render as regards both their innovation and internationalisation” The project has been submitted by CCRN, acting on its own behalf as the representative of five European regions, to the European Commission and get approval under RECITE II. : The project final goal will be working out of an innovative methodology covering the co-operation between companies and regions. The five partners of the project developed tools and actions directed to develop an integrated service oriented to give assistance to SME´s during the internationalisation process.

Regio-Link Offers New Tools for INTERNATIONALISATION REGIO-LINK BIC experience In spite of this scenario, the experience of BIC´s (Business and Innovation Centres) is that : • SME´s has a special talent to innovation. • As a result of the BIC´s mission the SME´s “born” with our support are usually very innovative. • If they succeed to fine tune their management tools and if they are given contact opportunities they present a high potential to grow.

Regio-Link Offers New Tools for INTERNATIONALISATION REGIO-LINK / BIC experience • A NET-BIC Porto emblematic case • Esotérica born in NET BIC has been the 1st Portuguese ISP (Internet Service Provider) founded by 3 partners with loan money and sold after 5 years to ViaNetworks by 200 x the initial capital. • Looking to the companies that are participating in RL project we will rapidly discover very innovative ones. • Trisoro - Converts the lacteal serum (from the cheese production process) into proteins and alcohol • DryParasite -Use of microwave heat as a mean of wood cleansing • Meteor Data - use of meteors to establish a world-wide network communication system. • Tylite - Titanium components for cars and motorcycles industries

Regio-Link Offers New Tools for INTERNATIONALISATION REGIO-LINK The process Results and Dissemination The tools and methodologies developed by Regio-Link will be distributed trough EBN (European BIC Network) portal. This portal will combine the Regio-Link and RPE (Regio-Partenariat Europe) tools and applications. This “new project” will de presented in Sardinia at June 5th, profiting the EBN Annual Congress.
