  1. Dressing or Bandage This course will be used to train one part of a buddy care course. The students will be corporate level students at any company.

Animation (yes or no): yes Graphics (yes or no): yes Audio (yes or no):yes Notes: Front page will display the international Red Cross symbol with the title of the course in the horizontal. Animated character needed, walking in from the left of page and speaking to introduce the course and himself. Dressing or Bandage Character (Joe Emergency) will introduce himself,” Hi, my name is Joe Emergency, you can call me Joe E. Joe will ask the question,” Dressing or Bandage, which would you use in a given emergency situation”?

Joe E. will narrate the slide pointing to each example of a bandage or dressing as required to illustrate the difference. Bandage Bandage Bandage and Dressing Dressing Dressing Bandage Text/Audio Narration: In an emergency situation we need to know what to use in order to help our friends and coworkers. As a child when we were injured we had our mom to put a bandage on our wounds or we went to the hospital to have a dressing applied. Lets use these examples to demonstrate the difference between each one.

Joe E- Hello, my name is Joe E and I know first aid; may I help you with your injury? Sally – why yes thank you, I have fallen and punctured my arm. Joe E- First let me put on some gloves, then we can apply the dressing. Joe E- lets watch the video to see how we apply a dressing.

Use sterile dressing. 2. wrap ends to seal from infection. 3. tie ends together over wound.

He narrates the beginning of the slide reading the main points and starting the new video. The application of a bandage can be copied for any part of the body this video shows the lower arm being bandaged.   7. Practice • Pair up in to teams and practice: • Apply one dressing. • Apply a bandage to hold the dressing. • Each team member will practice at least one application of each as they watch the video again.
