TN/VA Scholars Courses • 4 English courses • 4 Mathematics Courses (Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, & one higher level math) Bridge math and Capstone math does not qualify for seniors after the Class of 2013. • 3 Science Courses (Biology I, Chemistry, Physics preferred) • 3 History Courses (Government & Economics, etc.) • 1 Computer related Course • 1 Wellness Course • 1 Fine Arts Course • 2 Foreign Langauge courses in the same language • 2 Career Technical Education Courses (Computer class may count as 1 CTE credit)    - or – • 2 AP courses "above & beyond standard TN/VA Scholars requirements"    - or – • 2 Dual enrollment or Joint enrollment courses • Dual credit and online courses are acceptable.

Additional Expectations Community Service 80 hour over the course of 4 yrs Attendance must maintain at least 95% attendance over the 4-year period Discipline out of school suspension will result in removal from the program recognition GPA a “C” is the minimum acceptable grade in each required course Exams successful passing of all End of Course exams. (Algebra II and English III)

31. Great Rewards for TN/VA Scholars Money - College graduates will make $1.2 million more in total salary over their lifetime than non-college graduates. Rewards and recognition - Business give rewards and incentives for staying on track. Tennessee Scholars get special recognition at graduation. Job preferential hiring - many companies in 24 states have “Are you a State Scholar?” on their job applications. Scholarships and college success - Tennessee Scholars have designated scholarships and the courses are designed to help you be more successful in college.
