  6. You can’t learn this in a week You will need to devote time, and work hard

  7. Some of you will do this Many of you won’t

  8. Who wants to succeed?

Recommendation • Buy a laptop (lots of RAM, 64bit) • Install Ubuntu, or BioLinux • Force yourself to work on the command-line • Get on your institute’s linux servers • Get on your institute’s linux clusters • Use Google! • Set yourself a task and work at it. Do it yourself. Use Google. Only ask for help when really stuck • Work at it – the rewards are huge • These skills are in huge demand -> jobs, pay rises, promotion, papers etcetc
