  2. Introduction • The presentation is about the town of Utuado, where I reside. • The purpose of the presentation is to know details of Utuado, who has several places of historical and tourist interest.

  4. Points of Interest • Dos Bocas and CaonillasLakes • These are two of the reservoirs in the town of Utuado. In Dos Bocas Lake energy occurs. In both lakes you can enjoy the sport of fishing.

Points of Interest • Caves • Utuado is the municipality of Puerto Rico where there are more caves, known far twenty-three (23): four in the neighborhood Caguana, one in the Don Alonso, five (5) in Santa Rosa, and the other in the neighborhood Angeles , which are the most important for their scientific value, their formations and because they have been studied. These are called The Corozos which is in Camuy River Basin and Los Barreses

  9. Points of Interest • Rio Abajo Forest • The Rio Abajo forest, which share the municipalities of Utuado and Arecibo, is west of Dos Bocas Reservoir, between the Grande de Arecibo and Tanamá. It takes its name from the neighborhood downstream of Utuado. In this forest there is abundant vegetation or spiny xerophytic also be seen hummocks, sinkholes and caves, characteristic landforms of karst.

  10. Points of Interest • Indian Ceremonial Park • This town has one of the most important ancient monuments Puerto Rico, we refer to Indian Ceremonial Park Caguana neighborhood, where there is also an important museum. It is a legacy that still endures.

History • Utuado is rich in history, from Puerto Rico before it was discovered by the Spanish, was populated by indigenous Utuado. • On November 11, 1734, Governor Matthias Abbey granted the license to start the foundation of Utuado. However, it is not until October 12, 1739 that 60 families of Arecibo founded the Villa del Otoao. These families came from Arecibo, San Germán, Ponce and Aguada.

History • Utuado had economic activity in agriculture such as coffee. • President Theodore Rooseveltwas visited by in 1906, who ordered the construction of the bridge of La Playita. • He witnessed several revolutions stationed in the island, and th October, 1950 comes the Slaughter of the nationalist revolution, this being a tragic episode in our history.

  14. Conclusion • Utuado today remains a town where agriculture is part of its economy, but not the breadwinner of the people. It has beautiful places in contact with nature. • I love my people and I am very proud to live here.
