The Reality– University Campus Brno (2005 – ) • Associated to Life Science Campus of the Masaryk University • Campus worth about 200 mil Euro, built in 2002-2008 (about 70.000 m2) • More than 1000 PhD students in Life Science • Includes Incubator for Biomedical Technologies

The Further Plans:Eliminated Risks • Lack of supercritical mass within individual institutions. • Fragmented infrastructure for large Science & Technology projects and lack of professional management. • Unfortunate split between Engineering (Brno University of Technology) and Medicine, Science, and Arts (Masaryk University). • Split between the tertiary education and research in Adacemy of Sciences in general. • Limited experience and tradition in IPR protection and technology transfer.
