The University Writing Center ((A brief introduction)) 031 Dunbar Library775-4186 www.wright.edu/academics/writingctr
Our Mission “The goal of the UWC is to help our clients become more confident, independent writers, thereby enhancing their educational experiences at Wright State and their professional experiences beyond college.” www.wright.edu/academics/writingctr/
Our Philosophy “We support the current pedagogy adopted by the Wright State University Writing Programs Committee, namely that writing is a process; writing is itself a way of thinking; and therefore, writers need to talk about their work with other writers in order to engage thoughtfully in the writing process. Though we recognize the collaborative nature of the writing process, we also respect each writer's autonomy. We recognize that writers need to maintain ultimate authority over and responsibility for their own writing, especially in an academic setting.” www.wright.edu/academics/writingctr/
