IOPtiMate™ OT-135P2 Technical Training – Part II Daily Test IOP-35-006 (01)
Daily Test A series of system tests are necessary to verify the integrity of the system performance. • Tests should be performed: • Every day before using the System • and/or • After disassembly and re-assembly DISCLAIMER - Users are advised to read the User Manual before operating the system. In case of any mismatch between information mentioned herein to that presented in the User Manual, please refer to the last as the determines. IOP-35-006 (01) 1
System Testing Tools and accessories needed for system testing: • Ablation Card • IOPtiMate™ Test Card • Test surface tile • Smoke evacuation fan (recommended) CO2 Laser settings: • CO2 laser set to 17W CONTINUOUS MODE – Set on STANDBY • Aiming Beam laser set to ≤1mW – Turned ON IOP-35-006 (01) 2
System Testing Test Card: • Complete system setup (BMU assembly and cables) • Power ON the control unit • The LCD display will prompt"Insert Card" • Insert the IOPtiMate™ Test Card (RED) • Verify adequate number of available tests remaining • (The display will show the number of remaining tests) IOP-35-006 (01) 3
System Testing Focal plane verification: • Verify "Test Ready“ on the Control Unit • Press ENTER for Test Mode • Place ablation card under the microscope • Focus ophthalmic microscope on ablation card writing • Press FOCUS ON in the control unit • (the green light next to ON sign will turn on). • Verify 2 diode dots • Converge the two dots using the micrometer • Read the micrometer distance and verify that the • micrometer reading is within the range of 5-15mm. • Press FOCUS OFF IOP-35-006 (01) 4
System Testing Ablation testing: • Turn Laser ON - Set to STANDBY. • Verify Aiming beam is ON • Aiming beam forms two squares pattern • Verify FOCUS indication (2 diode dots) converge inside the 3x3mm pattern (inner/small square) IOP-35-006 (01) 5
System Testing Ablation testing: • Set laser to READY • Press footswitch once • Verify alignment - ablated area overlaps the red aiming beam pattern IOP-35-006 (01) 6
System Testing Ablation testing: • Repeat ablation test: Press footswitch successive times increasing the number of ablations (total of 6) per spot • TEST 1 – Press footswitch x 1 • TEST 2 – Press footswitch x 2 • TEST 3 – Press footswitch x 3 • TEST 4 – Press footswitch x 4 • TEST 5 – Press footswitch x 5 • TEST 6 – Press footswitch x 6 IOP-35-006 (01) IOP-35-002 (04) 7
System Testing Acceptance Criteria: • Full surface penetration after not less than 4 successive ablations • No full thickness penetration prior 4th successive ablations • Full surface penetration after not more than 6th successive ablation • DO NOT PROCEED IF ANY OF THE TESTS FAIL IOP-35-006 (01) IOP-35-002 (04) 8
Troubleshooting • In case the two focusing system dots didn’t converge Perform optic system calibration using GRD-35-007 - IOPtiMate™ (OT-135P2) Micrometer Height Calibration. • In case micrometer reading at dots convergence is not within the range of 5-15mm Verify ophthalmic microscope focus and repeat dots convergence. If micrometer reading is still not in the range of 5-15mm, then verify objective lens focal length is 200mm. If is higher then 200mm then you should add some spacers between the dovetail and the microscope which compensate such difference. • In case No Full surface penetration after 6th successive ablation Repeat the test while verifying: laser power parameters are on 17W and continuous mode, Focus of the ophthalmic microscope and dots convergence. If still the this test failed then perform laser testing using IRD-34-001 - Laser Power and Alignment Verification. IOP-35-006 (01) IOP-35-002 (04)
