WebPAC Pro • The next generation in public catalogs • Free! (Just a service commitment to request) • The internet has changed a lot since we introduced Web OPAC over a decade ago. It was time for a new platform on which we can build for the innovations of today & tomorrow.
2006 WebPAC Pro-only features • 50 results per page • Customizable record display • Automatic login to My Millennium • Default use of highly-flexible brief citation for all keyword results • Better default look & feel that’s easier to change with CSS

R2007: better messages • On Order messages (now in messages.conf) • “No Copies Available” (new web option)& bring in sync with AVAILLIM_STATS definition of “available”& suppress message from programs and resources • Checkin box status labels (new web option)& improved CSS control of display (phases out old web options)
R2007: Link into a scoped session • Get to WebPAC from anywhere… • Use a link like sohttp://library.example.org/~S3 • … and retain that scope on subsequent searches
R2007: improved support for the MARC21 standard for cross-references Sexy version: • Mmm, baby, subfield w, byte 3 Factual version: • 4xx and 5xx fields with a value in w/3 indicating a complex cross-reference may cause 6xx field to display and/or suppress display of 4xx/5xx field as appropriate.

R2007: codename BOOKEND • Improved handling of multi-item self-bookings ending time! • change "Maximum Booking Period…" wording to "Available for …" • no end time selected when page first loads • once a user selects an item, we will set the end time to the maximum bookable time for that item • new token to choose Hourly calendar as default

Also coming in R2007 • A new option for numeric-only values for patrons' PIN • A warning will be provided above the list of checked out material as well as by the individual affected records when a renewal fails. [IUG ballot]
Also coming in Release 2007 • Enable only strong Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption cyphers in the secure (HTTPS) interface to the WebPAC • Support Blackboard server running in SSL mode for Courseware Integration - Blackboard pre-authenticated passthrough
Also coming in R2007 • A new token for the indexed title will be available for use in brief citation. • It will be possible to add book covers to Feed Builder feeds. • Link to INN-Reach next to “Your entry would be here” in no hits browse
