The first steps • Each team chooses its King, who is placed outside the court of the opposite team. • The teacher throws the 2 balls in the air and the students try to catch them to start the game.
The game • The players as well as their King throw the balls at members of the opposing team in an attempt to eliminate as many players as possible.
Oh dear, I´m out A playeriseliminatedfromthecentralcourt: • If (s)he ishit on thefullanddoesn‘t manage to catch the ball. • If (s)he moves out ofboundswhen a ball isthrownathim/her. But if a throwerhashit an opposingplayer he isallowedto enter histeam´sfieldagain.
But Attention…Hit is not hit! A player isn´t hit if: • -the ball touches the floor before hitting the player. • -the player catches the ball.
Last King Standing • When the last player is eliminated from the court, the King goes in the central court. • (S)he is granted three lives, which means (s)he is allowed to be hit three times. • When team-mates from the outer circle hit an opposing player, they can go back into the court. The King goes out then.
The End • The game ends, when all the players and the King are out.
So then… We wish you good luck and a lot of fun when playing this typical German sport!
