  3. Social Enterprise Plan • Problem: What is the problem? Develop the problem statement that by providing context, problem situation (initial) and desired situation (goal). Why is it important, what is the scale? Give clear explanation why the problem matters. What damage would it do? What good will it prevent, what opportunity it brings? How big is the problem?

  4. Development of Social Enterprise Plan • Vision and Mission: What change in the community would you ultimately want to see? Imagine what the world would be if the problem is solved. The mission would give you a sense of purpose or the reason why your social enterprise exist.

  5. Development of Social Enterprise Plan • Theory of Change: What is your theory of change? A theory of change is a way of thinking about how the outcomes of your activities lead ultimately to your desired social impact. For example: If low-income disadvantaged young people have first hand experience running a business, they will be more successful in their careers.

  6. Development of Social Enterprise Plan • The Solution: What is your solution (products and services)? Explain exactly what is your solution to the problem, especially in term of products or services offering to your target community or stakeholder. What are the key activities needed in achieving your mission? Who are your customers? How do your solution innovatively remove the pain (solve the problem? Who else are solving the problems? Who are your competitors/partners? What can do you better or different from them?

  7. Development of Social Enterprise Plan • Social Impact : What is your ultimate desired social change? What are outcomes derived from your planned activities? How are these outcomes contribute to your ultimate goal? How do you measure your social impact?

  8. Development of Social Enterprise Plan • The Team : What is your human resource requirement? Who are your core team?

  9. Development of Social Enterprise Plan • Financial Summary: What is your financial need? What is your budget? How would you sustain your social enterprise?

  10. Developing a Social Enterprise Statement • What does the product or service do? • How is it different from other products or services? • Who will buy it? • Why will they buy it? Is the product or service different fro other products or services? • Where will it be sold? • When will it be ready to be sold? • How will it be promoted and sold?

  11. Attachments • Please make sure that you attach the following information along with your request. Incase it is found missing your request for seed financing will not be entertained • One Page Request from the Leader for Financial Assistance (please indicate how will you use the grant money) • Social Enterprise Statement • Filled Membership Forms of all the Members • One Year Membership Fee (Rs. 3000) • Copies of ID of all Members • Passport Size Picture of all Members • Two References (along with copies of id card)
