Estimated Energy and Maintenance Cost Savings Calculations Global Ocean Street Light vs. Conventional Street Light 250* Watt HPS Street Light 288 Watts x 10 hrs. = 2880 WH per day 2880 WH x 365 days = 1,051,200 WH or 1,051.2 KWH per year Cost/yr: 1,051.2 KWH x $0.10/KWH = $105.12 per 288 watt HPS street light Electrical energy cost of one 288 watt HPS street light over 50,000 hours (13.7 years) = $1440.14 *250 watt High Pressure Sodium (HPS) streetlight lamp consists of a 250 watt bulb plus the ballast which consumes greater than 38 watts of energy = 288 watts energy consumption. • 91 Watt Green Light Solutions Street Light • 91 Watts x 10 hrs. = 910 WH per day • 910 WH x 365 days = 332,150 WH or 332.2 KWH per year • Cost/yr: 332.2 KWH x $0.10/KWH = $33.22 per 91 watt LED street light • Electrical energy cost of one 91 watt LED street light over 50,000 hours (13.7 years) • = $455.11 • Energy Cost Savings over the life span of one Green Light Solutions Street Light • vs. conventional HPS street light = • $985.03 (68% energy savings). Average maintenance and replacement costs of one High Pressure Sodium Street Light: • The Street light lamp bulb is replaced every three years (3.0 years) if no wind vibration… • Cold temperatures and wind vibration can burn High Pressure Sodium in just 1 year… • Maintenance Cost is $200 (labor) +$50 (bulb)+ $5.0(waste mgt.) = $255 every 3 years or $85/ yr. • The ballast is replaced every 5 years at a cost of $350 (ballast + labor + waste mgt.) or $70 /yr. • The fixture/aluminum head is replaced every 18 years at a cost of$425 or $23.61 per year. Therefore, the average ‘’best case’’ maintenance and replacement cost per year for conventional High Pressure Sodium Lights is $178.61 Per Year. Over the lifespan equivalent of a LED street light of 50,000 hrs or (13.7 years), the cost Savings of maintenance / replacement of one current HPS street light is: 13.7 x $178.61/yr. = $2446.96 • Maintenance Cost Savings of ($2,446.96) and Energy Cost Savings of ($985.03) using our LED: • $3, 431.99 for each Green Light Solutions LED Street Light. • Return on Investment (R.O.I.) Less than 3.6 years $739 (Additional cost of LED street light fixture vs. conventional) + Installation $200 = $939 expense divided by $260.51 / yr. savings = 3.6 years A city/town with an average of 1,000 street lights will save over Thirty Five ($35.690) Million over the lifespan of the LED Street Lights. Applicable Savings from Energy Rebates and CO2 tax credits approx $10.00 per year per light post to further reduce the ROI. Note: energy and maintenance costs continue to escalate.

Fluorescent tubes have to be replaced every two years (2.0 years) and Ballast every 5 years; therefore, maintenance $12.50 per year + cost of tubes $2.5 + cost of ballast and labor replacement $25 + $5.0 (waste mgt.) = $45.00 maintenance and replacement cost per year. • Over the lifespan equivalent of a LED Linear Luminaire of 13.7 years the cost of maintenance / Replacement of one fluorescent is: 13.7 x $45/yr. = $616.50 • ROI: Savings per year (Energy, air conditioning and maintenance): $26.28 + $9.86 + $45.00 = $81.14 / yr. savings • $150 (LED Linear Selling Price) divided by $81.14 / yr. savings = 1.8 years R.O.I. • Note: Energy Saving Rebates have to be added to the ROI plus carbon credits plus escalating cost of energy. $3,000,000 in carbon tax credits would be generated annually for every 1 million fluorescent lighting fixtures replaced with our linear LED luminaires, approximately $12 million in carbon tax credits generated annually to replace 4 million fluorescent lighting fixtures. • Note: Energy and Maintenance costs continue to escalate with conventional lighting.

Green Light Solutions Corp. • LED AUDIT CHECKLIST • In determining project costs and potential energy savings it is very important to ensure that an accurate count of all fixtures take place. Below is a checklist of items needed to included in an audit or when asking potential clients for information about their facilities. • Audit Information Needed: • Fixture type • Bulb type, i.e.) Fluorescent, metal halide, par • Bulb size, i.e.) 4ft tube, incandescent bulb, par 30/38 • # of bulbs per fixture • Wattage of each bulb • Fixture size and type (if applicable), i.e.) 2ftx4ft fluorescent troffer. This is important because in replacing tubes if the fixture is a troffer it will have an acrylic lens so clear LED tubes will be best. If the fixture is a parabolic, which means it just has a grid cover where you can see the physical tubes, then frosted tubes will be needed. • Example: (T8 4ft 3 Lamp 32w 2x4 parabolic) Be consistent in how you list information so it will be easier to do a final count. • # of each fixture type • Average hours each fixture is turned on each day • Days of the weeks fixtures are on • Zones/Offices fixtures are grouped together for determining potential use of sensors • How to obtain fixture information: • There are 2 ways to gather information for accurate audits: • Obtain electrical plans and lighting schedules. If the building still has the original lighting then going over the lighting plans will be the quickest and easiest way to gather this information. Please ensure to confirm with the client if any modifications or retrofits have been performed. Also do a quick visual inspection verifying that the lights in the plans are in fact the ones that are currently installed. • The second way is to do a visual inspection and physical count of every fixture. This method is can be time consuming and difficult to keep track of, but if plans are not available it is your only option. After a couple audits it will become easier. The best way to keep track of the fixture count is to have a layout of the floor plan and label each zone/office and on another sheet detailing the fixture information. Ask the client if they have a office location sheet and if one is not available just draw the floor plan as best as you can. • Knowing what fixtures are in each zone/office is very important. If the client needs to replace lights in phases you can refer back to your audit to know exactly how many lights are in each phase without having to go back and count again. A lot of times clients will just give you a total count as basic information but it is not always accurate. When in doubt take a picture of the fixture or bulb. 403-389-3133 (CND)www.globalocean.orginformation@globalocean.org
