Before World War II • WilmHosenfeld was born on May 2nd,1865. He died on the date of August 13th, 1952. He died in a prison camp due to harsh climates. He was originally a teacher, then he was drafted into the Army as a German officer. He rose to the rank of a Hauptmann by the end of the war. A Hauptmann is the German word for captain. Before the start of World War II, Hosenfeld had a wife and five kids.
The Pianist • The Pianist is a movie made about a man who had just lost his whole entire family, they all died. He was in the middle of the city with no food and all the houses were torn down. Prison • Then in 1945, he was taken as a prisoner by the soviets. He was sentenced to twenty-five years of prison due to helping Jews to safety. Wilm later died in 1952 in the prison.
