Things you will need! • 1” clearview binder • Sunblock • Sunglasses • A box of ice pops • Sneakers • A good attitude
Can yo Cell phones • No cell phones will be visible during band practice. • Consequences • 1st time 5 pushups • 2nd time 2 laps after practice • 3rd time send home or call parents
Hydrate with water • NOT Soft Drinks or Energy Drinks
Foot wear • Wear sneakers or tennis shoes • No flip flops • No sandals • No boots • Consequences You will not be allowed on the practice field and will be counted absent.
Behavior expectations…. • Be respectful to: • All directors • Hired help • Parents • Student leaders • Small children • Everybody else
Band uniform care • Uniform must be hung properly on a hanger in a bag. • Uniform must be dry cleaned every two weeks at Kelly’s on 8th! • Consequences If uniform or shako are not stored properly: *It will be Confiscated *$10 fine
Expected behavior NO….. • Inappropriate conversations • Rude or inappropriate gestures • Inappropriate language • Offensive racial or sexual comments • Consequences may include: • Pushups • Laps • Parent contact • Possible dismissal from BDB

Role of the section leaders • Primary role is to lead, guide, and encourage • Help maintain positive morale • Provide positive and negative feedback • Communicate • Monitor talking • Lead by example • Reinforce basic skills such as posture, horn angle, marching basics
Section leaders have the power to: • Give 5-10 push ups at a time for minor infractions or lack of hustle • Give 1-3 laps after practice for persistent infractions • Report roll call to band captain • Arrange social events for their section • Call a short sectional (pending director approval)
When school starts • Practices will be Tuesday and Thursday 3:30 – 6:30 • Please plan your job schedule, tutoring, other clubs on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday! • Home games, be at ESMS bandroom fully dressed and ready to warmup at 6:00 sharp.
attendance • Miss a Thursday practice: • Will not participate on Friday night • Miss 2 Tuesday practices: • Will not participate on Friday night • Miss 4 practices: Suspended until a parent meeting to decide whether or not you may remain in the brigade.
