WARNING: • The pictures you are about to see are graphic. • These photos are being used to help you answer the following question: What part(s) of the female reproductive system is (are) most susceptible to sexually transmitted diseases? • We will be discussing each STD in greater detail later in the unit.

  3. #1 Chlamydia • This female patient has a milky, white cervical discharge, erythema (redness) and inflammation of the cervical tissue.

  4. #2 Gonorrhea • This female patient has swelling and of the cervix and labia.

  5. #3 Syphilis • This female patient has multiple chancre sores. (primary stage of infection)

  6. #4 Bacterial vaginosis (BV) • This female patient has swelling of the vaginal lining due to the bacterial infection.

  7. #5 Trichomoniasis • This female patient has the characteristic foamy, grayish discharge from the vagina and/or cervix.
