The Life of a Star. Presented by: Mr. Wentz Cheatham Hill Elementary. STEP ONE. Stars are born in an enormous cloud of gas called a nebula. STEP TWO. Gas in the nebula starts to swirl around more than usual. STEP THREE. The particles bump into each other and heat up. STEP FOUR.

STEP ONE Stars are born in an enormous cloud of gas called a nebula.
STEP TWO Gas in the nebula starts to swirl around more than usual.
STEP THREE The particles bump into each other and heat up.
STEP FOUR The gas forms a tight ball and heats up even more.
STEP FIVE When the gas heats up to 18 million degrees Fahrenheit, nuclear fusion starts in the core of the ball.
STEP SIX When nuclear fusion begins, the hot ball of gas becomes a star.
STEP SEVEN As the star grows older, it will expand.
STEP EIGHT As the core runs out of hydrogen and then helium, the core contracts and the outer layers expand, cool, and become less bright.
STEP NINE The star will eventually collapse and explode.
STEP TEN The star’s fate is determined by the original mass of the star; it will become either: a black dwarf a neutron star or, a black hole
