Aims and Objectives Aim : To identify any areas where MEA can assist or facilitate Venue Operators to improve / increase their business Objectives : By the end of this session we will have addressed; - Issues that currently face venue operators - Strategies to address the issues - Specific strategies on how MEA can act to assist venue operators with their issues 10th May 2008

Brainstorm and Group Work • Trend to see more PA’s and others who may have not organised events before and getting them “educated’ and also being able to move past them to the decision makers • Event Management Companies Vs Venues • Venues are increasingly providing added services such as themeing and entertainment (and making a profit). Where does that leave Event Management Companies? • Competing catering prices • Educating clients to understand pricing differences between venues with in-house catering and venues with contracted caterers. • Repeat clients. Are loyalty programs worthwhile 10th May 2008

Group Work Armed with this information from the whiteboard and your own issues that have not been addressed we are now going to answer; • What are some of the strategies to address these issues • Where does MEA fit? • How can MEA help? • Is it something MEA can direct to the right organisation? • If MEA cannot help, who can? (E.G. Venue to Venue) 10th May 2008
