  2. ALTAR SERVER AS AN ALTAR SERVER YOU REPRESENT THE PEOPLE PARTICIPATING IN THE LITURGY ON THE ALTAR, BY ASSISTING THE PRIEST AND DEACON.

  3. ALTAR SERVER Being an altar server is not something that is owed to us or we do because others want us too. It must be your decision. Remember it is great honor and privilege! It is your Prayer.

  4. As an altar server you must: Pay strict attention to what the priest is doing Never talk on the altar, other than to say the prayers along with the congregation or to answer a question the priest or Deacon may ask you. Not be looking out into the congregation for any reason. Pay attention to what the priest is saying and doing. Never do anything to distract anyone at Mass. Remember the Mass is the most sacred prayer of the Church. When the priest says the words, “This is my body and this is my blood” the bread and wine become Jesus!!! Jesus is present on the altar and you are kneeling a couple of feet away from him. What an honor!!! Be reverent and prayerful. You kneel before your God, your Savior.
