Romans 10:17 “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Acts 10 & 11 Speaking by the Holy Spirit does not prove that Cornelius was saved: • Saul had the Spirit of God upon him and did what Cornelius did and spoke by the Spirit of God. – 1 Sam 19:21-23 • The Lord opened the mouth of Balaam’s donkey – Num. 22:28 • Balaam spoke as directed by the Lord – Num 23:5,12,26 • Caiaphas the high priest prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation.
