Program Standard 7: FamiliesThe program establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with each child’s family to foster children’s development in all settings. These relationships are sensitive to family composition, language, and culture.
Program Standard 7: Required Criteria There are no required criteria in this standard.
Program Standard 7: Other Key Points • Program staff make it a point to become acquainted with and learn from families. • All families are included in all aspects of the program, including volunteer opportunities. • Families are informed of the assessment process. • Families are informed when a child is demonstrating a delay and are part of the “next steps” planning for their child. • Programs communicate with families on a weekly basis. Programs work with families to find the best method of communication between home and school. • Family are supported with transitions to other programs or schools.
