  2. Program Standard 7: FamiliesThe program establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with each child’s family to foster children’s development in all settings. These relationships are sensitive to family composition, language, and culture.

  3. Program Standard 7: Required Criteria There are no required criteria in this standard.

  4. Program Standard 7: Other Key Points • Program staff make it a point to become acquainted with and learn from families. • All families are included in all aspects of the program, including volunteer opportunities. • Families are informed of the assessment process. • Families are informed when a child is demonstrating a delay and are part of the “next steps” planning for their child. • Programs communicate with families on a weekly basis. Programs work with families to find the best method of communication between home and school. • Family are supported with transitions to other programs or schools.
