However, treatment- related side consequences, off-target effects, and drug resistance limit the effectiveness of many therapeutic claims. Moreover, metastatic cancer cells usually cannot be eliminated by common therapies, and recurrence in these cases is extremely likely. Therefore, researchers are working to reveal new, effective therapies with low or no toxicity in normal cells. Stem cells have individual properties, such as journey toward cancer cells, the flow of bioactive factors, and immunosuppression, which support tumor targeting and circumvent obstacles currently preventing gene therapy strategies. Preclinical stem cell-based procedures show great promise for use in targeted anti-cancer therapy treatments.
