Overview of KRC • The Kansas Recruitment Center was founded in 2003 to provide recruitment and retention services in the rural and underserved areas of Kansas.

Client Contracts • Annual Registration Contract • $400 per year for Critical Access Hospitals • Contingency Contract • $12,000 per physician placement • $8,000 per mid-level placement • $6,000 per allied health placement
Placements • KRC has placed 43 physicians and healthcare providers in rural communities throughout the state.
Placement Breakdown • 19 Family Physicians • 14 Internists • 2 Pediatricians • 3 Physician Assistants • 1 General Surgeon • 1 Emergency Medicine Physician • 1 Radiologic Technologist • 1 Ultrasound Technologist • 1 Registered Nurse
Critical Access Hospitals • Fifty-two out of 83 Critical Access Hospitals have contracted with KRC since its inception in 2003. • Ninety-one percent (91%) of these positions were shared with and reviewed by potential viable candidates. • Ninety-four percent (94%) of the Critical Access Hospitals received referrals, which included a candidate profile and a CV.
CAH Placements • KRC has placed 17 healthcare providers in Critical Access Hospitals Across Kansas.
Critical Access Hospitals • As of August 1, 2007, 38 Critical Access Hospitals have a current contract with KRC. • There are currently 65 active positions, including 12 contingency contract positions, from these Critical Access Hospitals.
Signing Up with KRC • Contact the Kansas Recruitment Center at 316-293-2649 or http://ruralhealth.kumc.edu to let them know you are interested. • Complete the contract and opportunity profile form, and send them back to KRC. • KRC will share your position(s) with candidates and refer those who are interested.

Kansas Locum Tenens • Provides temporary coverage for primary care physicians in rural Kansas. • Faculty and residents from the University of Kansas School of Medicine can provide coverage. • A good way to meet physicians and show them what your community has to offer.
Kansas Medical Resource • Provides temporary coverage for specialty physicians in rural communities; additional primary care coverage is also available. • Clients must send a signed contract to Rural Health Education and Services and pay the program fee to participate.
