  4. The Timescales. • New building ready for us to occupy last week in Oct 2011. • All GERI personnel – staff and students – will have office facilities there. • There will also be meeting room facilities.

  5. The Timescales. • Work on the basement will begin first week Nov. • The basement workshop will be completed, all machine tools installed etc., end Dec.

  6. The Timescales. • At the moment work on the ground floor labs is due to start beginning of Jan – but that might change. • If the schedule remains unchanged the overall completion will be early March 2012.

  11. The Project • The project is paying for all this – plus £600k in new capital equipment and our own “link-person”. • But we have to deliver 27 NW companies in grant applications in the next 3 years. • We must do this!

  13. Logos LogosLogos! • Using the logo on all communications is a requirement. • The university will be fined for non-compliance. • Don’t be the one to be caught out! • Letterhead, faxes, emails, business cards, PowerPoint etc.

  15. The Paperwork • A daily timesheet. • This must be done – not like before done in retrospect. • Much more detail needed. • The Excel form. • July and August done by next Friday!

  16. The Paperwork • Company profile. • Any company you talk to in the North West must have their profile captured. • The Liaison Engineer will help – but you must start it! • Being piloted now.

  17. Closure • We have an exciting future with huge potential and many opportunities. • But we need to adapt our working practices. • We will be supporting this. But to ride the rocket – you have to sit at the front!
