5. Have different passwords for all applications How this helps: if you have different passwords, then it is harder to get into more than one application.

6. Use complex passwords don’t use “love” or your last name as a password because people can guess that easily How this helps: if you use more complex passwords/ user names then the hacker will have a harder time getting into the account

7. Constantly back up hard drive How this helps: If you do get hacked and the hacker deletes all of the information, it at least you could recover it from the separate hard drive.

8. Don’t click links in email How this helps: by clicking email links, you are confirming your email address to the sender. This helps by keeping your email address private from spam.

9. Don’t friend someone if you don’t know them How this helps: If you only friend people you know, it is less likely your information will be abused.

10. Change password frequently How this Helps: If you were to get hacked, changing your password would force the hacker to crack your password again.

11. Be sure you use the right settings when using public Wi-Fi How this helps: With the correct software, hackers can obtain personal information when you’re connected to public Wi-Fi.
