State Breakout Planning Session • Do we collectively believe in the concept of Whole Community Planning and want to practice it within our communities, counties and region? • Is this a feasible and manageable concept? • Does anyone feel this isn’t possible and why? What do you feel might be a hindrance to us accomplishing this idea?
If so, before we start practicing whole community emergency planning, how do we bring about a cultural shift within our communities to get others who are not here to buy-in to this idea? • How do we educate other communities (urban/rural) agencies, organizations, non-profits, leaders and stakeholders that we need their participation, their time, resources, etc. • Who has not been here over the past two days that we need to bring to the table? • What type of materials, information or resources do we need that will allow us to reach others who have not participated to make them understand that they are an important piece of the puzzle in accomplishing whole community planning
Now that we’ve brainstormed some strategies to begin implementing this idea with other crucial partners, how do we build an infrastructure within our communities to ensure collaboration really occurs and is begun to be realized? • What does this look like? • Are there any individuals who are willing to step up and help drive this partnership and organize, communicate with and continue to drive this issue further? Which agencies/communities are best positioned with a large reach to be the drivers on this issue? • Recognizing that this doesn’t happen overnight, collectively, can we develop two goals/objectives that we would like to achieve in the following time frames: 6 months, 12 months, 18 months? • Do we want to develop a schedule for meeting or coming together regularly to network, establish relationships and update on progress/next steps to assure we are meeting our goals?
