The Story So Far LSHP targeted investment: • Supporting Local Partnerships in hotspots • Piloting Medi+Vend • Introducing YouthBytes • Pan-London FE/SHNA: “Going All The Way” • Vol. 1: Key Findings, Conclusions & Recommendations • Vol. 2: Deep Dives and the voice of Young Londoners • Vol. 3: Borough Profiles, Statistics and Resources

Going All The Way: Key Findings • Partnership challenge (regional/subregional/local): • Different institutional objectives • Information sharing and IT systems • Catchment areas • Lack of recognised standards/service specifications • Mixed patterns of provision between and within FECs • Certain groups very underserved (e.g. LGBT) • YP keen to engage with services and take responsibility for sexual health

  6. What Could be Provided? • Advice and counselling • Contraceptive services • Pregnancy services including testing and referral to termination or other services • Chlamydia screening and other STI testing with referral to GUM services

Summary Recommendations • The need for strategic leadership & direction Strategy jointly owned • The need for enablers Standards, IT, workforce and capital • The need for local leadership Local priorities, networks and partnerships, joint work, targeted needs assessments and comprehensive service specification • The need for targeted investment Financial context, promoting innovation, sharing learning • The need to meet special needs Further research into students with special needs or those outside the FE sector • The need for young people’s participation & engagement

Future Work Going All The Way Implementation: • Working groups to develop the service specification and enablers strategy • Consultative network for young people to be supplemented by an on-line consultative process linked to YouthBytes • Cross-sectoral Network to oversee this work and contribute to its development • Further Targeted Investment Including more medi+vends etc.

  9. What Can You Do? • Participation in Working Groups • Specification • Enablers (IT, Workforce, Capital) • Assisting us identify YP for consultative body • Coming forward with ideas for targeted investments • … Working together to transform Sexual Health services for Young People
