The RENERGY project, led by Durham County Council, aims to develop and implement a sustainable energy policy through community involvement, policy-making, and activity exchange. The project is funded by ERDF and DCC and has various project partners from different European countries. The RENERGY legacy expands through the REBUS and LOCARBO projects.

Project Approach The RENERGY project mainly focused around exchange and dissemination of experience, the transfer of practices, the development of new approaches and implementation plans. Expanding the RENERGY Legacy • REBUS – Interreg Europe project, involving approximately eight EU partners The project aims to improve policy instruments providing a ‘pathway’ for energy renovation works to publicly owned buildings. • Total Budget € 209,546.00 • ERDF €178,114.10 • DCC €31,431.90
Project Links • STEPHANIE – Interreg Europe project. Space technologies based on photonics are considered as one of Europe’s areas of key industrial competence. The challenge of the STEPHANIE project is to ensure that R&I investments exploit the opportunities offered by space to ensure that services are produced to address societal challenges and that they reach the market. • Total Budget € 207,420.00 • ERDF € 176,307 • DCC € 31,113
Project Links • LOCARBO is an ERDF funded Interreg Europe project, involving approx. eight EU partners. • Key features of the project are the delivery of interregional experiences and best practices in energy efficiency and energy management, in order to improve businesses competitiveness and resilience. • Total Budget € 257,126.10 ERDF € 218,557.19 DCC € 38,568.92 • •
BEEP The Business Energy Efficiency Project (BEEP) is an ERDF funded project that has been designed to help County Durham SMEs make financial savings through energy efficiency measures. 240 SME’s within County Durham will receive free energy audits and direct support to assess their energy needs along with a ‘limited pot’ Grant fund that can financially support the installation of energy efficient equipment. Total Budget: € 1,003,061 ERDF:€ 609,216 DCC Funding:€ 393,844
