3. Audience and Goal: The intended audience for this presentation is Senior Aerospace Education Officers. The goal of this presentation is to thoroughly familiarize you with the latest requirements for each level of the Aerospace Education Officer (215) Specialty Track.

4. Objectives By the end of this presentation you will be able to: 1. List the three levels within the AEO specialty track. 2. Describe each of the three learning domains within the AEO specialty track. 3. Describe the progression from one level to the next.

6. AEO Specialty Track Levels The levels within the Aerospace Education Office Specialty Track are no different than that of any other Specialty Track. There are three levels: • Technician • Senior • Master

7. AEO Specialty Track Levels (Continued) The specialty track is governed by CAPP 215. National Headquarters published the latest version of the pamphlet in February 2002. The new pamphlet is different from the previous version and this presentation reflects those changes.

8. AEO Learning Domains There are three learning domains within the AEO specialty track: • Knowledge of the Subject Matter • Duty Performance • Position Experience You must complete specific requirements within each domain at every in order to advance to the next level.

9. AEO Learning Domains (Continued) Unlike other Specialty Tracks, progress in any learning domain can be concurrent with those of other levels.

10. AEO Learning Domains (Continued) Knowledge You must demonstrate knowledge of specific nature at each level. For the Technician and Senior levels, you must take and pass a written examination. The Study Bibliography contained at the end of CAPP 215 is sufficient to complete this requirement.

11. AEO Learning Domains (Continued) Duty Performance Duty Performance focuses on specific tasks that the AEO performs at the rated level. The results are measurable and, usually, tangible. Therefore, they can be documented.

12. AEO Learning Domains (Continued) Position Assignment A Personnel Authorization (PA) or CAPF 2a are sufficient to document the assignment to one or more positions. Positions may be assigned concurrently. For higher ratings, the AEO must serve in squadron level positions for a longer as a substitute for group, wing, or region assignments.

13. Progressing in the AEO Specialty Track As mentioned above, many requirements for progressing in the 215 Specialty Track can be completed concurrently. The minimum time for completing the Master Rating is now 12 months. (Until the 2002 revision, the requirement was 18 months.) Let’s review CAPP 215.

17. AEO Specialty Track Reporting Requirements There are several key reporting requirements for tracking your progress, namely: • 2a or PA signed by your Squadron Commander for each AEO position. • Completion of the Commander’s Evaluation and Rating Certificate Checklist for each rating.

18. AEO Specialty TrackReporting Requirements (Continued) • Update of the Senior Training Report for each rating. • Tracking on the AEO quarterly report. All forms sent to National Headquarters should also be sent to Wing Headquarters as well for tracking purposes.
