  2. Gustar—to be pleasing, to like • Gustar is somewhat of an irregular verb because you will only use the 3rd person forms of this verb We like I like You (fam) like You guys like You all, they like He, she, you (form) like(s)

How to Use Gustar • When conjugating gustar, there are 2 items about which you need to be concerned: • Form of gustar—you will only use gusta or gustan • This matches what is being liked • use gusta with singular items and infinitives • use gustan with plural items • The indirect object pronouns—me, te, le, nos, os, les • This matches the person/thing who is doing the liking (subject)

Algunos Problemas • Traduce las frases (use the long form). • I like to lift weights. • You (form) like French fries. • We like social studies. • You (fam) like English class. • You all like to eat strawberries. A mí, me gusta levantar pesas. A usted, le gustan las papas fritas. A nosotros, nos gustan las ciencias sociales. A ti, te gusta la clase de inglés. A ustedes, les gusta comer las fresas.
