  2. LET US RECALL • What is a prime number? • A number has only two factors is called a prime number. • What is a factor? • A number which divides another number exactly is called a factor of the second number and the second number is called a multiple of the first.

  3. 1 and the number itself are always the factors of any number. • 1is not a prime number.

  4. Composite number • A number which has more than 2 factors is called a composite number. • 1 is not a composite number. • We conclude that 1 is neither a prime number nor a composite number.
