Solar Keymark revised database

The Revised Solar Keymark Database is a user-friendly and accessible platform that contains all relevant data extracted from Solar Keymark datasheets for collectors, tanks, systems, and controllers. It offers a publicly accessible user interface for businesses, governments, and installers to check licenses, read product specifications, and access reports in PDF format. The database is continuously updated with new and revised datasheets, and there are potential additional IT services to support various stakeholders.

  1. Solar Keymarkrevised database Gerard van Amerongen vAConsult 25.02.2019

  2. Introduction • Current Solar Keymark database: ‘Basic’ functionality • List of certified products • Details through download of a datasheet • By decision of Solar Keymark Network: • Revision of database to contain the actual data, instead of the datasheet only • Add additional IT services to the database Current Data available through Datasheet only

  3. The revised database • Basic database (MySQL) • Accessible through the web • Containing all relevant data extracted from the Solar Keymark datasheets • for all the sub-schemes: collectors, tanks, systems and controllers • Updatable with new / revised datasheets • With potential for additional IT services Revised Solar Keymark database (*) Relatively free format, that allows for changes in the assembly of data items, without changing the database

  4. Publicly accessible user interface Make the data available to all

  5. Publicly accessible user interface • Intended use: • Business to business: check licenses and read product specifications • Governments: check data for support schemes, surveillance,… • Installers: composing ErP devices/packages, EPBD business • Not offering: • Selection of best performing product • All listed products are good products • Designed for different media: • phone, tablet, laptop, desktop

  6. Publicly accessible user interface- List view - • Try it: http://www.duurzaamloket.nl/SK3/ • Find a certificate through • Selection of a sub-scheme • Search or browse the list (license number, company, brand name) • Click an entry for details Select sub-scheme User interface Revised Solar Keymark database

  7. Publicly accessible user interface- Detail view - Download the datasheet Select a family member type Select one of the display tables Click to unfold the data User interface Revised Solar Keymark database

  8. Publicly accessible user interface And some reports in pdf format User interface Revised Solar Keymark database

  9. Test lab Datasheet Database management Changed status Certification body Revised Solar Keymark database How is the data managed?

  10. Database update procedures - Certification bodies are responsible - Current situation desired situation Certification body Certification body Excel app will be made available Revised Solar Keymark database

  11. Datasheet upload- Desired situation - • Web support: • Web form to upload datasheets • Web form to change status certificate • Pass word protected

  12. Implementation procedure- Starting now - • All new / revised datasheets according to latest versions • New / revised datasheets, Excel & pdf versions, by email • Evaluation new procedure: • One CB gets upload Excel workbook and help of the database manager • Procedure will be fine tuned • Full implementation • All CB’s get there copy of the Excel upload workbook • Web training session on its use • Closure of procedure by email

  13. Additional IT services

  14. Next steps • Links for certification holders to the database entry • Support automated access to the data • E.g. product databases, governments, software… • Two request received: INES (France) and LabelPack A+ • Other organizations will be contacten (SCF: 8C06.1 Add-Value_vAC) • Linking components (SCF: SCF7-Label-DB) • Collector – tank (– controller) • Output: ErP package data • Output: EN 12977-2 performance (e.g. SolTherm) • Input for solar software tools Example SolTherm: Select a collector Enter number of collectors Select a tank Calculatethe performance for e.g. Solar Keymark references Example SOLCAL: Select a collector Enter number of collectors Select a tank Enter specs pump and control Calculatethe performance SOLCAL INES: centre de référence européen sur l’énergie solaire et le bâtiment

  15. Current status Of the database revision

  16. The revised database • All data has been imported from the existing datasheets • Import through the pdf datasheets (sub-optimal) • The pdf versions are the formal correct and most current data sources • The import process is not perfect, due to • The quality of pdf (e.g. scanned) 20%-23% • Can be improved, if the certification body uploads the datasheet • Will be improved on after receiving the Excel versions of the datasheet by mail • Not unambiguous application of the Excel templates and other issues • Can only be improved if the data is reformatted in the datasheet • Not all current data is available in older datasheet formats • In all cases the pdf versions can be downloaded by the users

  17. Implementation

  18. The SKN ‘decision’ • Withdrawal of the proposed decision on revised (upgraded) datasheets. • Instead, an Excel app will be distributed, with which current version datasheets can be uploaded. • That (I think), will not call for a decision • I am asking the SKN to agree with following: • The certification bodies are responsible for the correctness of the data in the database. The certification bodies upload new / revised datasheets and maintain the status of certificates in the database, using the tools made available by the database manager

  19. Thanks for your time and attention
