  1. Welcome To The Services Of The Dunlap church of Christ We Are Thankful For Your Presence!

  2. Welcome To The Services Of The Dunlap church of Christ Questions? Just Let Us Know!

  3. I Peter 2:5-10 “Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priest-hood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.”

  4. (6) Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.”

  5. (7) Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,”

  6. (8) And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: where-unto also they were appointed.”

  7. (9) But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:”

  8. (10) Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.”

  9. Cancer Center Of America • Patient there for 4 months! • Kept waiting each day for a person to break the mold. • Everyone committed to accomplish the same thing, likemindedness, following the same plan. • “This is the way the church is supposed to be!” (I Cor.1:10)

  10. I Corinthians 1:10 “Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.”

  11. Philippians 1:27 “Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;”

  12. Philippians 3:14-17 “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. (15) Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.”

  13. (16) Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. (17) Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.”

  14. Cheers • Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name and they're always glad you came. • You wanna be where you can see our troubles are all the same. • You wanna be where everybody knows your name.

  15. Acts 4:32-33 “And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. (33) And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.”

  16. Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

  17. I John 1:3-4 “That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. (4) And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.”

  18. I John 1:7,9 “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. (9) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

  19. A Disciple of Jesus? Contrast Between… Following A Merely Human Movement Following The Christ

  20. The People Of God? A Product Of The Grace Of God Hebrews 2:9; Titus 2:11-14 It makes every man realize that his efforts, wisdom, and wealth are nothing. In contrast to Matthew 23:5ff “All their works…to be seen”

  21. Ephesians 1:7 “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;”

  22. I Peter 1:18-19 “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; (19) But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

  23. The People Of God • The focal point of the people of God is God. • They want someday to be face to face with Jesus Christ.

  24. The People Of God? Saved By Grace Through Faith Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: (9) Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

  25. The People Of God? Saved By Grace Through Faith Ephesians 2:8-9 • We cannot earn our salvation as it is a free gift through the blood of Jesus Christ. • The reception of His grace is conditional; it is through faith.

  26. Saved By Grace Through Faith • What confidence do we have that a relationship with God does exist? • The blood of Christ and the redemption that Jesus provides is the confidence Christians have that they have a relationship with God. • That sacrifice that men could not make Christ made!

  27. Saved By Grace Through Faith • Here is a major historic battleground that the Christian must fight. • The conditions of pardon necessary to become a Christian are the where & when faith saves a person. • Are confession and baptism an addition to being saved “by grace through faith?”

  28. Saved By Grace Through Faith • Faith is a choice and men are called on to act in faith. (Acts 2:36-40) • A living faith is never alone, as it acts with the promises of God throughout our lives. (James 2:24-26) • Does John 3:16 exclude baptism? • No, because it would also by the same reasoning exclude repentance. • Acts 3:19; Luke 24:47

  29. Demanded Division • This stand has caused a necessary separation from the denominational world. • Based upon the ability to know who are and who are not the people of God.

  30. The People Of God Are Committed To Follow Jesus Alone John 12:48-50 “He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.”

  31. (49) For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. (50) And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.”

  32. The People Of God Are Committed To Follow Jesus Alone The stand we must take of having “Book, Chapter, and Verse” for our teaching and practice is a tribute to Christ’s complete work and our desire to glorify Him. Colossians 3:17; I Peter 4:11

  33. Isaiah 5:20 “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”

  34. God’s Simple Plan HEAR (Romans 10:17) BELIEVE (John 8:24) REPENT (Luke 13:3) CONFESS (Rom.10:9-10) BAPTIZED (Gal. 3:27) ADDED TO THE CHURCH (Acts 2:41,47)

  35. Are You Wayward? “Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.” (Acts 8:22) “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” (James 5:16)
