Introduction • Rectification is a process that converts AC into DC. • In diode based rectifiers, output voltage cannot be controlled. So they are termed as uncontrolled rectifiers. • Rectifier may be n-pulse type. Number of pulses in any rectifier configuration is given by: Pulse number=number of load current (or voltage) pulses during one cycle of ac source voltage. • Diodes are assumed to be ideal.
