Coast Survey Update • ENCs – 502 available and in continuous maintenance • 98% of NOAA ENCs updated on a weekly basis • Jan 2007 – expect ENC coverage available in > 90% of • areas in which vessels expected to be impacted by new • USCG electronic chart carriage rules operate • RNCs - NOAA/Maptech RNC CRADA expired in June 2005 • Contract to produce NOAA RNCs competitively awarded to • MAPTECH in June 2005 • On/about 1 Oct 2005 NOAA RNCs and updates to be available • free over the Internet • Commercial providers will be able to distribute NOAA RNCs or • value-added RNCs • Distributors must adhere to specified practices

Coast Survey Update • Final ENC Distribution Rule • - Published in Federal Register this week • - 9 of 12 HSRP recommendations incorporated • Hydrographic Products Quality Assurance Program • - To date, no private sector products submitted for certification • Hydrographic Survey Vessel Time Charter (TC) • - Base performance year ended 7 July • - Insufficient FY05 TC funds available to exercise option year • - Contract extended until early Oct with available FY05 TC funds • - Absent appropriations TC contract will expire at that time

Coast Survey Update • Hydrodynamic models under development and scheduled for • completion in FY06 • - St. John’s River • - Lake Erie • - Lake Michigan • Navigation Response Teams (NRT) • - NRT 7 stood up in June (mid-Atlantic Region) • - NRT 8 scheduled for FY06 (NE Region) • - Hurricane Dennis response • Integrated Ocean and Coastal Mapping – Federal Mapping Inventory • - NOAA, USGS, USACE and USN collaboration
