  1. Who is Hibernating? Created by Sally Musick

  2. What is hibernation? Hibernation is a time when animals go into a deep sleep for winter.

  3. Let’s think of animals that hibernate!

  4. Why do these animals hibernate? Is it too cold outside? Do they have enough fur to keep them warm? Does nature provide enough food for them to eat?

  5. Where do these animals sleep? Under your bed? In your back pocket? In your tree house?

  6. Probably NOT! Most animals find cozy warm places that are quiet and away from anything that might wake them. Remember they are sound asleep!

  7. How long do these animals hibernate? Their body’s alarm clock will wake them when the temperatures start to warm up, what season will that be? SPRING FALL SUMMER WINTER

  8. Do animals get hungry while they are sleeping? No. They have saved and stored food, as fat, in their bodies. They will eat again in the spring.

  9. Where would you hibernate?

  10. Let’s create our own hibernation home!

  11. SLEEP SWEET!
