Early College of Forsyth is ranked as one of the "Best High Schools in the USA" by US News & World Report. Located on the FTCC Main Campus, students take high school courses in Ardmore Hall and college courses in Hauser Hall. Transportation options include magnet bus transportation and car riders. Students can enjoy lunch in the grill or bring lunch from home. The school offers a variety of student activities and clubs, and communication with parents is through various channels. The program of study allows students to graduate with a high school diploma and an associate degree in four years.

ECFLocation • Located on FTCC Main Campus • 2nd Floor of Ardmore Hall • Students take all high school courses in this building and majority of college classes in Ardmore during 9th grade year. • ACA and PED college courses are in Hauser Hall. • Lunch is served in Hauser Hall. • Students can also eat lunch in Snyder Hall.
ECFCalendarandHours • Hybrid of two calendars: WSFCS and FTCC • First day of school for high school classes is Thursday, August 8. • First day of school for college classes is Friday, August 16. • Final day for students (tentative) is Friday, May 15. • ECF follows FTCC calendar for holidays/breaks. • ECF will have school on some days that WSFCS is not in session and vice-versa. • School hours: • 9:00-3:15 (Monday-Thursday) • 9:00-3:00 (Friday) FTCC campus closes at 3:00 on Fridays. • Building opens by 7:30 AM each day. • Students should be off campus by 5:00 PM each day. (3:15 on Fridays)
Transportation • Magnet Bus Transportation • WSFCS will pick up and drop off at a designated schools in the district. • Only operates when WSFCS is in session. • Begins on August 26. • Drops off around 9:00 AM and picks up at 3:20 PM here at ECF. • Car Riders • Students can be dropped off in morning as close to Ardmore Hall as possible. • Afternoon pick-up is much more coordinated. • Must be picked up in gravel parking lot below Snyder Hall. • FTCC Campus Police will handle non-compliant drivers. All freshmen will be car riders until august 26

Lunch • All 9th graders have lunch 11:45 AM-12:20 PM. • Students may eat in The Grill, outside in approved locations, or in Snyder Hall. • Students may bring lunch or purchase food in the Grill or from vending machines, or pre-order from Parkland High School. • Grill is closed until August 16. • Parkland High School program will begin August 26. • Students must bring lunch from home through August 15. (No other options). • Meal cards can be purchased for $55 plus tax = $58.71 in the Grill • 10 meals at $5.50 per meal. • Limited number of microwave ovens available in the Grill and Snyder Hall. • There will be days where students will need to bring lunch from home due to The Grill being closed. • Additional info on Meal Cards and the Parkland lunch program will be sent home with students.

OurProgramofStudy • Students can graduate high school & college (Associate’s Degree) in 4 years. • Program of study framed around the community college’s Associate of Arts degree, a college transfer degree. • Students would then transfer to a UNCstate institution to finish the undergraduate/Bachelor’s degree. • Most students who take the recommended number of college courses each semester & pass these college courses with C or higher can usually complete their high school diploma & Associate of Arts in 4 years.

Freshmanfieldtrip • We will be taking a field trip to Raven Knob in Mount Airy, NC next Thursday (August 15) for team building for our 9th graders. • We will leave campus at 9:00 AM and return at 4:30 PM. • Cost is $5 and must be paid by August 13. • Includes admission, transportation, and lunch • (hot dog, chips, drink) • Green permission form in your folder. (Due by August 13) • Wear comfortable clothes and old tennis shoes.
