Proposal Objectives • To provide a safe, comfortable, and fun learning environment for students to gain knowledge about themselves, their cultural identity, cultural diversity, and other cultural characteristics. • To implement English language instructional strategies for preparing a culturally diverse community • To increase English language learners’ global perspective by applying culturally responsive teaching • To promote self-respect and respect for others • To support children in need of medical care for cancer, by raising funds to help St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital. http://www.stjude.org/stjude/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=f87d4c2a71fca210VgnVCM1000001e0215acRCRD

FRAMEWORK FOR SUCCESSSTAKEHOLDERS’ KEY CONTRIBUTIONS K-12 students: study and learn about diversity in the classroom! -help plan the diversity event. Parents: provide ethnic foods and American food and assist with activities Educational Staff: provide ethnic and American food and assist with activities Principals: review and approve or recommend revisions, and present opening and closing remarks School Community: students, parents, family all welcome/sign-up to present and/or bring ethnic foods District Leaders: special guests Washington County Businesses: sponsor a month/ donate a doorprize for one month/optional: set up a table with business information and distribute business cards to school community / special guests
