  4. Objective • Increase participation of diverse suppliers in contracting & procurement opportunities • Develop a competitive supplier base that represents the communities we serve • Promote economic development through inclusion of a competitive diverse supply chain

  5. Process • Verify your business is certified with the CPUC Supplier Clearinghouse • Make contact with supplier diversity consultant and/or procurement representatives • Once pre-qualified you may be invited to bid

Contract Opportunities Prepare Beyond the Process • Prepare • Educate yourself on our purchasing process • Plan for opportunities 3 to 6 months • Know our business • Schedule meeting with key business unit representatives • Understand what and “when we buy” Know our business • Be Creative • Subcontracting • Business Development • Join professional organizations Be Creative
