Simple Past. Grammar essential # 44. “simple past”. Without learning a new tense, one can talk about what just happened with using present tense of acabar. The formula is: acabar (conjugated) + de + infinitive Has/ Have just (done something). Simple past. She has just read the book.

  2. “simple past” Without learning a new tense, one can talk about what just happened with using present tense of acabar. The formula is: acabar (conjugated) + de + infinitive Has/ Have just (done something)

  3. Simple past She has just read the book. Ella acaba de leer el libro. We have just eaten the tacos. Nosotros acabamos de comer los tacos. They have just worked at the café. Ellos acaban de trabajar al café.

  4. Simple past Change the present tense to simple past. For example: Ella estudia a la escuela. Ella acaba de estudiar a la escuela. Yo nado en la piscina. Yo acabo de nadar en la piscina.

  5. Simple past Change from present to simple past. • Beto llega temprano. • Nosotros escribimos la carta. • Tú aprendes a jugar al balencesto. • Ella y tú tienen cinco doláres.

  6. Simple past Beto llega temprano. Beto acaba de llegar temprano. Nosotros escribimos la carta. Nosotros acabamos de escribir la carta. Tú aprendes a jugar al balencesto. Tú acabas de aprender a jugar al balencesto. Ella y tú tienen cinco doláres. Ella y tú acaban de tener cinco doláres.
