  2. Accountable Care Has Different DataPriorities. Coverage decisions are not important. Authorizations eventually become irrelevant. Aggregate population data more important. Responsibility is on payers to share data with physicians and health systems to inform decisions. Data regarding transitions of care is key. Internal clinical data systems help care systems optimize outcomes.

  3. Early Observations for Value Programs Vendors and consultants are proliferating. Fundamental process change more important than infrastructure build. Providers (especially hospitals) tend to overestimate the impact of elaborate data systems. Humans are an essential component. Specialty specific programs are challenging. Oncology may be the most challenging.
