  26. Battle Axe • The battle axe was the most commonly used Viking weapon. • Viking warriors swung down on their opponents and struck them on their back. • The Vikings were very precise with where their battle axes landed, making this the most dangerous weapon in the Viking warriors arsenal.

  27. Shields • Shields were used as a means of defense for the Vikings against enemy attacks. • Some shields had holsters screwed onto the back to allow for a spot for Viking warriors to put their arms to avoid letting go of the shield during battle.
