This initiative aims to address the major impediments to Latino health and healthcare in North Carolina, such as unfamiliarity with the healthcare system, communication barriers, and cultural differences. The program focuses on training lay health advisors to bridge the gap between the Latino community and healthcare providers, through a comprehensive curriculum and support structures. The desired outcomes include improved health outcomes, clearly defined roles, and increased support for Latino lay health advisors.
