Objectives for TWISTCooperation with Oberhavel Holding • Today, the existing minimal offer of public transport in rural and suburban regions of the German Research Area Oberhavel does not fit the needs of the citizens. • The situation could be improved by an integration of a basic network of (fast) bus lines and an additional demand responsive transport service. Further issues could be an “institutionalization” of private bring-and-take services or the implementation of commuter bus services. • The main objective within the action plan of TWIST will be the development of a concept for a new social oriented public mobility service and its implementation in the rural districts Oberhavel. • This for instance includes the following steps: • Estimation and development of a method to estimate the demand for dial-a-bus services • Implementation of an overall concept for public mobility and of introduction of new operational structures for rural transport services • Development of operational concepts for demand responsive transport and commuter bus services • Research on legal barriers and regulation matters for the realization of the developed transport modes • … TWIST Transnational Meeting Rome, 23.-24.
