SCORM 2004 3rd Edition • Changes due to standardization/specification efforts, in particular the IMS Content Packaging Specification Version 1.1.4 and IEEE Standard for Learning Technology – XML Schema Definition Language Binding for Learning Object Metadata • Clarification of concepts and requirements • Enhancements and bug fixes • Best practices from the ADL Community • Incorporates SCORM Addendum Document into core document set • Impacts Summary Document

SCORM 2004 3rd Edition Release Schedule • Draft released to public February 2006 • Sample RTE and Conformance Test Suite • 90 day public review • SCORM Technical Working Group convened to review comments and harmonize changes • Draft 2 released to public August 21, 2005 • Sample RTE and Conformance Test Suite • 30 day public review • Final version released October 20, 2006 • Updated version released November 16, 2006

  5. Adoption of SCORM 2004 3rd Edition • Positive feedback and recognized improvements toward interoperability • Seven Certified LMSs and Seven Certified Content Packages • 11 Additional products identified as Adoptors • More products in the queue
