First Person Commands ("nosotros") Nosotros commands are used when the speaker is included, and are used to express the idea "let's + verb." To form these commands, follow the same rules as with Tú negative, Usted, and Ustedes commands. 1. Find the “yo form” 2. Drop the –o 3. Add the opposite ending in the “nosotros” form: Let's eat here! ¡Comamosaquí! ¡Let’s dance! ¡Bailemos! **The same verbs will be irregular (DISHES) We do not stem change in the nosotros form. (¡Dormamos! ¡Juguemos!)
Negative Nosotros Commands: • To form the negative command, place the word no before the same verb form as in the affirmative command: • No comamosaquí.Let's not eat there. • No bailemos.Let's not dance.
Exception: Ir (and Irse) • The only exception is the verb ir(se), which uses the regular present indicative for the affirmative command only. • ¡Vamosahora!Let's go now! but • No vayamos a la tienda.Let's not go to the store.
Adding pronouns: • As with other commands, a written accent is often required when pronouns are added. With affirmative commands, the final "s" of the verb form is dropped before adding the pronouns "nos" or "se." • Sentarse: • Sentemos + nos = Sentémonos.Let's sit down. • Escribir: • Escribamos + se + la = Escribámosla.Let's write it to them. • But not with negative commands. • No nossentemos.Let's not sit down. • No la escribamos.Let's not write it to them
