  2. Goal: Increase Proficiency The goal of the world languages department is to immerse students in the target language in order to increase their proficiency. • Listening • Speaking • Reading • Writing

  3. Required Materials • Textbook: Discovering French Noveau (Rouge) We will cover the material in units 1-10. Textbooks may be kept at home, as we have a classroom set of books. http://www.classzone.com/cz/books/french_3/book_home.htm?state=PA • Workbooks: - Grammar and vocabulary workbook. It will be loaned to the student for the semester or can be purchased for $12.75. This workbook is mainly used for homework.

Assessments • Tests & Quizzes – 40% • Tests include writing, reading, listening and speaking • Performance Assessments – 30% • Pronunciation, accuracy of grammar/structure and content are the main aspects evaluated. • Homework – 15% • Participation – 15% I am available for extra help after school most days.

  6. Final Grade • Marking Period 1 – 40% • Marking Period 2 – 40% • Final Exam – 20%
