  5. What you NEED to know (cont) • What to do BEFORE you upgrade • Make sure O/S is completely up to date, incl. all Microsoft patches and fixes. • Make sure you have a “PERFECTLY” clean machine. No viruses, trojans, key loggers, spyware, malware, etc • Up to date versions of Spybot, Ad-aware, and your virus software. • SP2 CDROM or broadband Internet connection. • Backup your data!

  7. Improve Chances of Success • See previous slide!! • Turn off screen savers, automatic updates, virus protection software, etc. • Install SP2
